Alaska Day 4-6

Finally, I am going to finish posting about our awesome trip to Alaska!!

So on day 4 we went to El Dorado Gold Mine. It was neat to see how they pan for gold and how much work it takes to just get a little amount of gold! We panned about 5-6 bags of dirt and all together got about $60.00 worth of gold!

On day 5, we took the Riverboat Discovery tour. They take you on the Chena river and show you all the sites from the river. You get to see a demonstration from the dogs who are trained to pull the dog sleds in the Iditarod race. Paddy really liked the dogs! They kept trying to lick him. You can see how they catch salmon, clean it, smoke it and what they do with all the parts.

On day 6, we were going to hike Angel Rocks Trail and go to Chena hot springs. Well, Paddy had a little fever all morning so we sent Jamiee and the older boys (Teddy and Brian) to hike the trail. Steph, the kids, and I were to meet them at Chena hot springs later. So the boys and Jamiee had a great time hiking. Paddy's fever went away and everyone was itching to do swimming, so we loaded up and drove to meet the boys. Chena hot springs is great! The water was super hot and relaxing, although I couldn't stay in long for fear of cooking baby Nugen! They have an indoor pool, where they boys had a fantastic time swimming!
